Test Confirms Significant Improvement
Date: June 26, 2026
Ningbo Shengmao Leisure Products Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. recently announced a major breakthrough in surface treatment technology for metal brackets used in marine environments. To address the extreme challenges of high salinity, high humidity, and strong corrosivity in seawater, the company employs stainless steel as the base material and applies a specially designed multi‑layer composite protective coating on the surface. Independent third‑party neutral salt spray (NSS) tests have verified that samples treated with the new process show no visible rust spots after 720 hours of continuous spraying, with a corrosion rate reduced by approximately 82% compared to conventional powder coating. The estimated service life of the treated brackets is more than three times longer than that of traditional finishes.
According to the company’s technical director, the new treatment has minimal impact on dimensional accuracy, making it fully suitable for demanding applications such as aquaculture cages, offshore photovoltaic mounting systems, and marina ancillary equipment.
Since transitioning to outdoor leisure products, Shengmao has consistently increased its R&D investment in new materials and processes. The successful application of this marine anti‑corrosion technology represents a significant step for the company, extending its expertise from traditional outdoor furniture into high‑durability, long‑life marine engineering components. The new process is now in small‑batch trial production. Shengmao welcomes domestic and international customers to discuss collaborations and jointly explore durable solutions for marine environments.
